Why Lead Yourself?
Imposter syndrome is not a lack of confidence or ability.
For many professional women, it develops alongside responsibility, leadership and high personal standards. It shows up when you care deeply about doing things well, carry a lot for others and keep adapting to meet expectations, without pausing to consider the cost to yourself.
Over time, this can lead to patterns such as:
-
second-guessing decisions
-
relying on self-criticism to stay motivated
-
over-preparing or over-functioning
-
pushing through stress rather than responding to it
These patterns are not flaws. They are often learned ways of coping in environments that reward output and resilience, but leave little space for reflection, regulation, or self-trust.
This programme exists because pushing harder does not resolve imposter syndrome.
What helps is understanding how beliefs, behaviour, stress and identity interact, and learning how to respond differently in ways that support both wellbeing and performance.
When you lead yourself with understanding, compassion, and intention, that’s when the best version of yourself shines.

What we work on together
Lead Yourself, Lead Your Life is grounded in health psychology and behaviour change. Rather than asking you to fix yourself or become someone new, the work focuses on helping you understand yourself more clearly and respond differently to the patterns that undermine confidence and self-belief.
Together, we focus on:
Understanding imposter patterns
Recognising how self-doubt shows up for you, what triggers it and how it influences behaviour, decisions and self-perception.
Strengthening self-trust and confidence
Building a more stable relationship with yourself, so confidence comes from understanding rather than external validation or pressure.
Decision-making and leadership of self
Developing clarity and confidence in choices, especially when things feel uncertain, complex, or emotionally loaded.
Stress, regulation and wellbeing
Understanding how stress, sleep, and emotional regulation affect confidence and performance, and building habits that support steadiness rather than burnout.
Values, identity and direction
Reconnecting with what matters to you, so your actions and decisions feel more aligned and intentional.
The work is reflective, practical and grounded in your real life. It is designed to support change that feels realistic, sustainable and personal to you.
Lead Yourself, Lead Your Life is a 12-week, cohort-based online programme combining group support with individual sessions.
The structure offers both shared understanding and personalised support, recognising that confidence, self-trust and behaviour change develop through reflection, practice and relationship.
The programme includes:
-
Weekly group sessions (90 minutes)
A supportive space to explore themes, reflect and learn alongside others navigating similar experiences. Group sessions offer perspective, normalisation and shared insight, without pressure to perform or overshare.
-
Two one-to-one sessions
Individual sessions provide space to focus on your specific patterns, questions and experiences, and to apply the work in a way that feels relevant to your life and circumstances.
-
Practical tools and reflective exercises
Worksheets, prompts and exercises support learning between sessions and help translate insight into everyday practice.
-
Private online community
A calm, moderated space for connection, reflection and support throughout the programme.
Across the 12 weeks, the programme moves through a series of themes designed to build understanding, confidence and leadership of self over time. Each theme supports reflection and practical application, rather than information overload.
The programme is designed and facilitated by
Dr Rupy Kaur Roberts, HCPC-registered
Health Psychologist.
